For schools, choirs and groups
Beatbox workshops
Running in Austrian schools since 2006. After three lessons a whole class can beatbox – no prior knowledge, no instrument.
What a workshop does
Everyone can join
No prior knowledge, no instrument, no sheet music. If you can talk, you can beatbox – which is what makes it work for a whole class at once.
Rhythm and breathing
Beatboxing trains the diaphragm and breath control, sharpens articulation and builds a real sense of rhythm.
Presence and focus
Students perform in front of the group, listen to each other and hold a beat for minutes at a time. Concentration training that happens to be fun.
How it runs
A well-planned sequence makes the learning stick. We always work in the same order:
- Core sounds and breathing – kick drum, hi-hat, snare, and how to breathe while playing
- Where beatboxing comes from – briefly, so the sounds have a context
- Technique – clean attack, volume, tempo
- Building your own beats – from the material learned
- Learning games – playful group practice
- Rebuilding known songs – the moment it clicks
- Microphone technique – if there is time or a performance planned
